Smart Smoke Detector Setup



Getting Started

The BULP Smart Smoke Detector is built for effortless safety. It includes a sealed 10-year battery, so no installation of batteries is required. Once activated, the detector continuously monitors your environment for smoke and is ready to connect to your phone for real-time alerts.

Powering On

Remove the protective tab on the back of the detector, if present.
A short beep and a single LED flash will indicate that the device is active.
Your smoke detector is now ready for pairing and monitoring.

Connect to the App

To receive notifications, view device status, and test functionality remotely, connect your detector to the Smart Life app.

  1. Download the Smart Life app for iOS or Android

  2. Make sure your phone is connected to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network

  3. Open the app and tap the plus (+) icon in the top-right corner

  4. Choose Add Device > Security & Sensors > Smoke Detector (Wi-Fi)

  5. Press and hold the test button on the detector for 5 seconds

  6. The LED will begin blinking rapidly, indicating pairing mode

  7. Follow the in-app instructions to complete the setup

Once connected, the LED will stop blinking and the app will confirm the device has been added successfully.

Interlinking Multiple Smoke Detectors

For added safety, multiple BULP smoke detectors can be wirelessly interconnected. This allows all linked detectors to sound the alarm simultaneously when smoke is detected by any one of them.

Connecting Two Detectors

  1. Activate both detectors

  2. On the first unit, press and hold the test button for 3 seconds

  3. The LED will begin flashing once per second

  4. Within 30 seconds, briefly press the test button on the second unit

  5. Both LEDs will flash rapidly, then return to standby

  6. Press the test button on one of the detectors to confirm that both sound the alarm

Connecting Three or More Detectors

  1. Activate all detectors and keep them nearby

  2. Start with any one detector and hold the test button for 3 seconds to enter pairing mode

  3. Within 30 seconds, briefly press the test button on a second detector

  4. Once paired, press and hold the test button on one of the already paired units for 3 seconds

  5. Briefly press the test button on the third unit to pair it

  6. Repeat this process for each additional detector

  7. Test the connection by pressing the test button on any unit. All detectors should sound the alarm
